Lego Insiders brings fans together in a new program, kicking off with a treasure hunt

Lego have announced that fans of the plastic brick can now join a new club, the Lego Insiders. This program is a replacement of the Lego VIP that has been around for quite a while, and in celebration of the debut a new treasure hunt has been announced.

So what is the big deal about this new program? Well Lego Insiders lets members earn points for buying Lego sets from either Lego.com.au or Lego stores, but now if you register sets you also earn points. That means when you pick up that set on sale, you can score points. You can also be informed about new events, sets and promotions, should you opt in for that, there is a FAQ page, should you have additional questions.

In celebration of the new program, Lego have announced the Lego Insiders Treasure Hunt, where anyone who is a member can take part and the best part, you don’t need to buy new Lego.

To take part, you need to use the Lego Insiders app and scan your existing Lego and should you find a Gold Brick in your collection, you will earn $13,250 AUD worth of Points, just to be clear that is points not dollars. The points can then be spent in the LEGO Insiders Reward Center for discounts on sets, member-only merchandise, sweepstakes entries (in select countries) for cool collectibles and more.

For those who don’t win the jackpot, there are thousands more prizes to be won including digital comic book makers, unlocks in LEGO games and digital downloads of iconic images from the companies history.

Details on how to enter and sign up, can be found here. The hunt starts today and runs through to October 2nd, so you have six weeks to scan all your Lego.
