Destiny 2 The Final Shape gets detailed and dated

Bungie hosted their Destiny 2 showcase overnight and revealed new details about The Final Shape, which is the final story for Destiny 2, but there were also new details about the raids and return of Cayde-6. Check out the trailer for The Final Shape below.

In The Final Shape, Guardians will confront oblivion in the form of their ultimate adversary –The Witness – alongside their iconic Vanguard companions: Ikora Rey, Commander Zavala, and the mysteriously returned Cayde-6. Players will embark on a perilous journey of remembrance and discovery into the heart of the Traveler, rally the Vanguard, and end the War of Light and Darkness.

Check out some screens of The Pale Heart below, a new location for players to explore and one that is set within that of the Traveller.

Yes, you read that correctly, inside. Shaped by The Witness but also influenced by the history and journey of the Guardians themselves, The Pale Heart destination will feature nostalgic callbacks from throughout the history of the Light and Darkness Saga, including a version of the original Tower from Destiny. As the first linear destination in Destiny history, The Pale Heart will also gradually evolve.

Of course, you won’t be undertaking this evolving world with just what you have now as new supers will be introduced as part of the expansion. In fact there will be three new Super abilities and Aspects (Void for Titans, Solar for Warlocks, and Arc for Hunters) and you can see screens of them below.

New supers are not all you will get as there are new weapons and gear to equip for the right, including a new weapon subfamily that includes the Rocket Pistol Sidearm and a new Support Frame Auto Rifle that can deal damage while healing allies. Additionally, classic weapons from the original Destiny will return, and a new Exotic Fusion Rifle, among others.

A full breakdown can be found on the games official site, which includes all the details on seasons, player progression, improvements and more, you can find that here.

If you want to learn more, be sure to check out the full showcase, which you can do below. While the showcase covers a lot, the post-show is where they get into the real details.
