A shot rings out of the dark in Midnight Murder Club

Velan Studios, the folks behind Mario Kart Live and Knockout City are back with another multiplayer focused game. Welcome to Midnight Murder Club, where your aim is to take down all the targets, the catch, its pitch black until you turn on your light, check out the trailer below.

In Midnight Murder Club, the unique pitch black gameplay has players slowly creeping through the inky darkness of an old Victorian mansion, armed with only a flashlight and revolver, trying to complete their mission and survive.

As they navigate through the dark hallways, they must keep an eye out for other club members that might be hiding in the shadows, more than willing to kill to be the last ones standing. Midnight Murder Club is a new heart-pounding and hilarious first-person shooter party game for friends.

With Midnight Murder Club, we started with a simple game jam idea of a shooter in the dark and we quickly realized that we had something unique. By playing with light, dark and sound, we’re able to offer a riveting gameplay experience that keeps players’ adrenaline pumping. Playing in pitch darkness is an immediately novel experience where you’re scared to turn your flashlight on for fear that someone will see it, but also don’t want to turn it off for fear of losing your way. You’ll strain your ears to hear footsteps in the darkness, calling out to the shadows, and dreading the response. These are the primal fears we are tapping into with Midnight Murder Club.

In Midnight Murder Club, players must master four exciting modes to survive. In Deathmatch, it's a kill-or-be-killed scenario in both 2v2v2 and free-for-all formats, where the goal is to accumulate the most kills. In Free for All, members of the club traverse the mansion solo, striving to emerge as the deadliest by the round's conclusion.

In Hunter/Hunted mode, two players assume the hunter role, aiming to stop the other four from locating and incinerating four concealed effigies. Thief in the Night mode teams up players in pairs to covertly move through the mansion and pilfer precious items. Each gameplay mode challenges the players' ingenuity as they make their way in total darkness, guided only by their flashlights, to fullfil their mission of survival.

Right now the game is only confirmed for PC and is aiming to release later in the year.
